Jonathan A. Britto

BSc(Hons) MB MD FRCS FRCS(Plast) - Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Jonathan Britto is a Consultant Plastic and Craniofacial surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, and the St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery, Chelmsford, Essex. His basic plastic surgical training was in London, Essex and Boston USA, before specialist Fellowships in craniofacial surgery, aesthetic surgery and facial palsy surgery in Paris, and Toronto Canada. He is entered on the specialist register in plastic surgery of the General Medical Council (No. 3479993), and is a diplomate Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in plastic surgery.

Jonathan Britto is a Syme Professor of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, has an MD in craniofacial development, and has authored over 40 papers in various plastic and aesthetic surgical subjects., including facial anatomy, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery. He has lectured by invitation nationally and internationally, organized and lectured by invitation on national and international training courses, and has written a surgical textbook and several plastic surgical book chapters. He is a Director of a private plastic surgical partnership, offering all subspeciality areas of plastic and aesthetic surgery, with personal emphasis on the breast and face (www.millimetreperfect.co.uk).

Raj RajaRayan OBE

MSc FDS FFGDP MRD MGDS DRD BDS LDS

He was a former Director of Primary Dental Care and Board of Management of the Eastman, former  Dean of the FGDP(UK) and former member of Council of the GDC. He has lectured extensively internationally and has many awards to his name. He is currently the Associate Dean of Postgraduate Dentistry at the London Deanery.

Dr Daljit Gill

Daljit Gill is Consultant Orthodontist/ Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Eastman Dental Hospital and Honorary Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. He is also in private orthodontic practice in central London.

Dr Gill has a sub-specialist interest in the management of Craniofacial deformity and the Orthodontic-Restorative interface. He is actively involved in research with themes relating to smile aesthetics and hypodontia. He had published a textbook on Orthodontics.

Dr Joe Omar

Dr Yusof (Joe) Omar was born and brought up in South Africa. His family came to Britain to avoid the apartheid system when he was just 11 years old. He qualified from Cairo University Medical School in 1976. Upon his return to London in 1977 he held training posts at Westminster and the Royal Marsden Hospitals in London and Sutton. Since 1984 he has practiced as a dental anesthetist and sedationist. He has lectured extensively, at home and abroad, on the subject of Medical Emergencies in Dentistry; and also runs courses on sedation for doctors and dentists. He has presented at the FDI in Canada and has lectured for the London Deanery for over 15 years. He is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the Eastman Dental Institute, UCL. Joe is a member of the Standing Committee for Sedation in Dentistry, and a Council member of the Association of Dental Anaesthetists.

Dr Naresh K Sharma

Naresh K Sharma qualified from the University of Leeds in 1974. After a short stint in General Dental Practice, he went back into Hospital Dentistry, concentrating mainly in Oral Surgery at Leeds General Infirmary.

Over the years Naresh built up a seven dental practice surgery. He currently represents the Yorkshire Dentists at the National Faculty Board Level at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Naresh is extremely well published and his past appointments have included Chairman of the Examinations Committee of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. Naresh is currently on the specialist list for oral surgery.

Naresh is widely known in the post-graduate circle having been a Clinical Tutor in Wakefield for many years.  He was also involved in introducing Pathways in Practice, and the D.G.D.P in the Yorkshire Region. He is currently on the teaching faculty for the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at The Royal College of Surgeons in England and is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr Julian Webber

Julian Webber is the Director of the Harley Street Centre for Endodontics, the state of the art facility dedicated to endodontic excellence. He is widely recognised as an expert on the use of nickel titanium in root canal preparation as well as re-treatment procedures. He is a faculty member of the Pacific Endodontic Research Foundation in San Diego, California, where he has perfected and taught all aspects of endodontics under the microscope.

Dr Achim Schmidt

Dr. Scmidt obtained his dental degree at the University of Wurzburg, Germany. He is certified in Oral Implantology and completed his advanced clinical education at the International Centre for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Nurembery. He obtained his Master of Science in Implantology at the University of Kerms, Vienna, Dr Schmidt is in private practice, limited to Oral Implantology and Periodontics in Munich, Germany.

He is a diplomat of the ICOI, a founding member of the GOIA (Global Oral Implant Academy) and a member of the DGZI (German Society of Implantology. Dr Schmidt has developed and patented several components for oral implantology and lectures frequently at national and international meetings.

Mr Bruce Bernstein

Bruce Bernstein has been with Careington Corporation, a United States health care company, for nine years and Munroe Sutton, an international corporation, since it's inception in 2008. He has held the responsibilities of Network Practitioner Relations Specialist, Assistant Director of Practitioner Network Development, Assistant Director of Marketing and currently serves as Director of Network Development for both companies.

Bruce was asked to share his experience regarding building and maintaining quality dental networks in March of 2008 at the International Institute of Research's Dental Benefit Summit in Tampa, Florida as a speaker and panel member. In August of 2008 Bruce presented and sat on a question and answer panel at the American Dental Association’s National Dental Benefits Conference discussing dental provider networks and plan trends.

Mr Kevin Lewis

Kevin Lewis qualified from The London Hospital in 1971. He spent 20 years in full time general dental practice and 10 further years practising part time. He became involved in the dento-legal field in 1989, firstly as a member of the Board of Directors of Dental Protection, then (1992) as a full time dento-legal adviser and since 1998 as Dental Director. He became a member of the Council (Board of Directors) of the Medical Protection Society in 2003 and is a member of the senior management team of MPS.

For 25 years from 1981 to 2006, Kevin was the Associate Editor of Dental Practice. He is now the Consultant Editor of Dentistry. He has written two textbooks on dental practice management. He writes and lectures regularly all over the world, having been an invited speaker at six FDI World Dental Congresses since 1995 and a guest speaker at the conferences of 14 national dental associations.

Dr Sia Mirfendereski

Sia is principle of 3 Dental Practices across London as well as holding the post of Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Warwick. He is also a visiting Lecturer at the University of Florence, Italy.

He is a specialist in Prosthodontics and runs a multi disciplinary practice in Wimpole Street, London W1. He has been part time lecturer both in conservative dentistry, which is now called restorative dentistry and part time lecturer in Oral and Maxillo-facial surgery at the Royal London Hospital. Sia also does consultancy dental work for Chelsea Football team. Sia has lectured extensively regarding Dental Bleaching in the UK and internationally.

Dr Peter Galgut

Peter Galgut qualified as a dentist in 1971, and gained a MSc with distinction in Periodontology in 1983. Subsequently he obtained the MRD (Membership in Restorative Dentistry) and also the MFGDP from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was awarded a MPhil in acknowledgement of his research in biomaterials and wound healing. In addition, he has a Diploma of Dental Homoeopathy awarded by the Faculty of Homoeopathy at the Royal National Homeopathic Hospital, London. He is well published and he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Eastman Dental Institute, researching dental calculus and subjects related to preventative dental care. He has published over 120 papers arising from his work.

Dr Trevor Bigg

Dr. Bigg has been working in private practice in West Oxfordshire for nearly 40 years and has treated up to four generations of some families. He operates a general practice and take referrals for cosmetic dentistry, the non-invasive restoration of the worn dentition and treatment of Temporo-mandibular Dysfunction (TMD).

He was a Tutor to the Central London Study Group for 5 years with MGDS students and mentor practitioners who are taking the FFGDP (UK). Dr. Bigg often lectures at home and abroad on crown and bridge updates, posterior and anterior composites, bleaching and Minimal Intervention Dentistry. He also run day 'hands-on' courses for Denplan and Dentsply on Contemporary Aesthetic Dentistry and presented a Smile-on Webinar on Bleaching.

Dr. Bigg holds a membership in General Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, London and Fellowships from the College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and London and is a Past-President of the British Society for General Dental Surgery.

Prof. Edward Lynch

Edward is professor of restorative dentistry and gerodontology at Queen’s University Belfast and also consultant in restorative dentistry to the royal hospitals. A specialist in endodontics, prosthodontics, restorative dentistry and BUPA specialist in oral surgery, he has been published extensively. QUB has been ranked the No.1 dental school in the UK and his research team at QUB has been honoured 9 times at the annual meeting of the International Association for Dental Research. In addition he has been elected the 3rd most influential person in UK dentistry by thousands of dentists and has just been elected the next president of GORG in the International Association for Dental Research.

Edward and Wyman will take you through the latest developments in home and surgery bleaching, including how to use initiators and promoters to allow you to whiten teeth faster and better and practical advice as to how to clinically use the latest adhesives and composites with whitening. The hands on lecture will also include a live demonstration on surgery bleaching.

Dr Wyman Chan

Dr Wyman Chan's, BDS, LDS, RCS, IADFE esteemed career has led him to experience all the major home and power whitening systems and primarily develop the ultimate patented whitening system on the market today.

Dr Chan's pioneering and acclaimed research in the prosperous field of teeth whitening has resulted in five UK patents on advanced bleaching gel formulation, innovative bleaching devices and superior methods of bleaching.

Through his ground breaking research and extensive exploratory treatment on thousands of patients, Dr Chan has discovered vital phenomena on the texture of teeth.

These essential findings have been utilised worldwide, to establish key protocols and metrics that now contribute to the heightened understanding and improvement on safety, efficacy and reliability of teeth-whitening processes.

The reputable Dr Chan has many articles published (including a chapter in the newly published Quintessence book, The Art of Treatment Planning). He lectures internationally and runs practical and highly in demand power whitening seminars in London.

Dr Basil Mizrahi

Basil completed his 3 year full time Prosthodontics and Implant dentistry training at Louisiana State University, USA under the leadership of Dr Gerard Chiche, a leading world authority on aesthetic dentistry. While specialising he also obtained a Masters degree in Education.

Basil now runs a full time referral private practice specialising in Complex Rehabilitation and Aesthetic Cases and Dental Implants. He is recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Prosthodontics and Restorative dentistry and is an Honorary Clinical lecturer at UCL Eastman Dental Institute. He is a Fellow of the "American College of Prosthodontists" and also runs hands-on "Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry" courses. Basil publishes and lecture extensively both nationally and internationally and is on the Editorial Board of Quintessence International.

Dr Seema Sharma

Seema Sharma is the owner of a few successful dental practices in London, where she also runs a training business and management consultancy, Dentabyte Limited, looks after a property portfolio and has recently set up her own charitable foundation. All this she combines with bringing up two daughters with her cardiologist husband Sanjay. It is not a bad list of achievements for someone who describes herself as a 'bit of a dabbler'.

Last year she added a new title when she became Channel 4's 'Slumdog Secret Millionaire', distributing much needed support for the street kids and slum dwellers of Mumbai. It is not a description she enjoys, but Seema says she has no regrets about raising awareness through the television series.

"I believe that if a bus of opportunity comes past you should get on it. This was a one-off opportunity, a chance of a lifetime, and the support for my charity has been tremendous." Hear Seema speak about her journey to success, and the satisfaction of putting something back.

Dr Ian Thompson

In 2002, Ian moved to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Guy's Hospital (part of King's College London) where he leads a research team looking at clinical uses of bioactive materials. Ian's laboratory is a leader in bioactive glass facial prosthetics. Ian also leads a number of public awareness programs funded by the Wellcome Trust and EPSRC looking at a) public perceptions of medical materials research, b) development of surgical techniques since World War 1 - a soldier's story.

Ian Thompson graduated from the Materials Department from Queen Mary University of London (Formerly, Queen Mary & Westfield College) in 1996. Completed a PhD with Professor Larry Hench at Imperial College London studying bioactive glass composites. Stayed at Imperial for a post doctoral research post and ultimately as a Projects Manager for one of the countries leading Tissue Engineering Centres. Moved to Guy's Hospital in 2002 in order to help patients in today's society.

Ian is Technical Director of OSspray Ltd, a materials research company developing dental treatments/therapies to eliminate dental sensitivity, improve oral hygiene and regain natural tooth colour.
